2.2.1. Making Calls

To call another I/Talk user

Step 1: Click on the username of the person you would like to call.

Step 2: Click the Call button. If the computer you are calling is turned on and I/Talk is active there, you will hear the phone ring and so will the person you are calling. When they answer, you can begin talking using the Talk or Lock buttons.

When this is done, the following caller screen will display showing the information for the person you are calling.




If the call is not answered by the specified number of rings, the answering machine will pick up and you can leave a message.

If other calls come in while you are on the phone, the callers will be sent to the answering machine where they can leave a message.

Any number of concurrent callers can leave a message at the same time.

Step 3: Hangup. When you are completed with your call, click the Hangup button. This will disconnect the caller and the phone will return to a ready state.
