2.3.1.4. Batch Dependencies Screen

Shown below is the Batch Dependencies Screen. This screen is reached from the Batch Detail Screen/Depends/Edit menu option in the Manager program.


Batch dependencies can be used when you only want a Batch to begin if a given condition is true in the Batch Scheduling environment. If a Batch has a dependency defined, the Batch will not start until the dependency condition evaluates to TRUE.

Menu options on this screen
Below is a description of the menu options available on this screen, and what they are used for.

File
Accept Changes Ctrl+S
This option saves any changes you have made on this screen. This option will only be enabled when you have made a change to the detail information on this screen.

Close Batch Dependencies Esc
Closes this screen. If changes to detail information have been made, you will be prompted to verify if you want to save or discard your changes.

Depends
Add Depends Ctrl+N
Use this option to add a new dependency condition. Once the dependency has been added to the grid, use the Depends/Edit menu option to enter the specification for the dependency.

Edit Depends
Opens the current selected dependency grid entry for editing. You will be presented with the Dependency Detail screen.
The Dependency Detail screen is presented in the next section.

Operator
This menu option lets you change the logic operator for the current selected entry in the dependencies grid. Options are <, <=, =, >=, >, <>.

Line Operator
The line operator lets you decide how multiple dependencies are evaluated. Options for this are AND or OR.

Delete Depends Entry
Deletes the current selected entry in the dependencies grid. You will be prompted to verify the delete request.
