2.4.1. Calendar Details Screen

Shown below is the Calendar Details screen.


Use this screen to change a Calendar definition. A calendar can be used by batches or users to define run days and no run days (or days off in the case of a user calendar).


Fields on this screen
Calendar Name
Use this field to change the name of the calendar. The name is used to reference the calendar from other parts of the batch scheduler system. Name is required and must be unique. Name can be 64 characters, no spaces.

Base Calendar
Use this dropdown combo box to choose another calendar to act as a base calendar for this calendar being defined. You can choose to define all holidays in a seperate calendar and then use the holiday calendar as the base calendar. This would automatically give you all of the dates defined in the base calendar as well.

Folder Name
Optional. Use this field to enter or select a Folder Group for this definition. Folder Groups are used to organize objects on the definition screen. When you specify a Folder Name the icons for this will be located in a folder on the Definition screen.

Description
Use this field to enter a description for this calendar. Description can be up to 255 characters in length.

Default
This is the default day type for this calendar. When no day is selected, the calendar assumes this setting.

Dates
Use this set of controls to add or remove date settings from the calendar being defined. You can click on the row or column buttons to set or unset the entire row or column. Click on any day on the calendar to set or unset the day. Green is ON, Red is OFF.


Menu options on this screen
Below is a description of the menu options available on this screen, and what they are used for.

File
Save Ctrl+S
This option saves any changes you have made to the draft file. This option will only be enabled when you have made a change to the detail information on the current screen. Changes are saved into the Calendar Draft file, and must be checked in to the batch scheduler in order to take effect.

Save And CheckIn
This option saves any changes you have made to the draft file and Checks In the changes to the batch scheduler.

Save As New Calendar
This option lets you save the current information as a New Calendar definition. You must change the Calendar Name to a unique Name for this operation to be successful.

Validate Draft
This option validates the current open draft document. If errors exist, a message box will display detailing the errors found. You will not be able to check-in a draft which contains errors.

Close Calendar Details Esc
Closes this screen. If changes to detail information have been made, you will be prompted to verify if you want to save or discard your changes.

Window
Allows you to rearrange or access the current open windows in the Manager.
