2.5. Alerts

Alerts are used to notify someone when something goes wrong during processing.

An Alert definition, defines the user or users to be notified and the notification method to use: Methods are EMail, Beeper or Text pager. Alerts can be designed to continue sending notifications at specified time intervals, until someone responds and clears the alert.

Alerts also support a Next Level user or users. When the number of alert retries has been exceeded for the initial alert level, a second set of users can be notified (ie. a supervisor).

For each batch you create, you can indicate the Alert to raise when a job returns an unsuccessful return code.
