Step 6: Units Of Measure

Inventory items come in differing quantities and sizes of containers versus what is needed when it is actually used.

Each inventory item you define must include a base unit of measurement declaration for the item. Tracker uses this information when managing inventory and production.

Units of Measure provides for automatic conversion of quantities to different units of measurement.

For example: 1 Inch=1 Inch, 12 Inches=1 Foot, 36 Inches=1 Yard

Use the Database Maintenance module to view or change the existing Units of Measure entries and add any additional units which you may require.

Shown below is the Units of Measure definition screen:


Use this screen to maintain the set of Units of Measure defined for use in the Tracker system.

Double click on an entry shown in the grid to display the Unit Of Measure Conversion Definition screen, shown below


Use this screen to maintain the set of conversions for a specific Unit Of Measure definition in the Tracker system database.
