2.3.2.2. The Item Assembly Package
An Assembly Package must be defined for any in-house manufactured item.
The Assembly Package is the 'Recipe' used to schedule and control the manufacture a product.
An Assembly Package defines: Location Step/Time allotments, required materials, equipment and labor.
Assembly Package information is used by the Production Manager when scheduling production runs.
All of this information is taken into consideration when the Production Manager module schedules and allocates resources for a production run.
The Assembly Package defines the following information for the Production Manager about how to produce a given manufactured item.
- Bill Of Output
- Bill Of Materials
- Bill Of Labor
- Bill Of Equipment
- Bill Of Output
- Locations
- Step Times
Use the Item Assembly Detail screens (described in the following sections) to create and maintain an Assembly Package definition for an item.
