Bill Of Materials Screen

You may add items to the Bill Of Materials for an Assembly Package definition.

The Bill Of Materials defines a list of materials that are required to create some quantity of product (BOO).

When the Production Manager schedules a package that contains material requirements:

1. The Production Manager module examines the production order requested and then cross-checks material availability against the inventory system.

2. If there is not enough material available to supply the requested production run, the production order will be placed on hold and a request will be issued for resupply of the needed material item. Depending on the material requested, a purchase item request or another production request will be generated to acquire or manufacture the needed item.

3. Once all materials are available the production order can continue the scheduling process.

4. When all materials needed are available, the Production Manager places a reserve on the inventory items that will be needed for the production run. In addition, an inventory fetch request will be generated for the scheduled start time of the production batch so that the materials will arrive on time for when they are needed.

The Bill Of Materials screen is shown below.

Use this screen to create and maintain the type and amounts of each material required for a production run.

You may add new material items, change existing ones, or remove materials from the list.
