2.3.2. Inventory Item Definition

The Inventory Item Definition screen is used to create and maintain inventory items used in the system (both raw materials and orderable products or services).

Shown below is the Inventory Item Definition screen. This screen is used to manage the set of inventory items available for use in the Tracker System Database.




To add a new Inventory Item
Use the File/New Inventory Item menu option to create a new inventory item.

When this is done, a new item will be added to the database and the Inventory Item Detail screen (described in the following section) will be presented for the new item.


To delete an existing inventory item
Click on the inventory item icon to delete so that it is selected (has a box around it).

Next, click on the File/Delete Inventory Item menu option to remove the selected item(s).

After verification, the selected items will be marked for deletion and removed from the current view.


To edit an existing Inventory Item
Click on the inventory item icon to edit so that it is selected (has a box around it).

Next, use the File/Open Inventory Item menu option to open the item for editing.

When this is done, the Inventory Item Details screen (described in the following section) will be presented to modify the item.
