2.3.2.1.6. Assembly Package Definition
The Assembly tab is used to defined the Assembly Package definition for an item.
An Assembly Package definition is only required for IN-HOUSE manufactured inventory items.
In addition, this tab is used to define the Bill Of Output for the Assembly Package set (recipe). Bill of output defines how much product that a given production run is expected to produce
For example: A cake recipe creates 1 cake unit
If you need to produce five cakes, then you must perform the recipe five times since the output quantity from the recipe is one cake.
Production Manager will automatically determine the correct number of runs of a given package that will need to be scheduled to produce a desired quantity of output. Production manager uses the items BOO in this determination.
Shown below is the Item Assembly Package definition screen.

This screen is used to create and maintain the set of Assembly Packages defined for an item.
Typically you will have one Assembly Package definition per product.
Multiple Assembly Packages can be used when there are separate components which need to be created to produce the product.
Refer to the next section of this document for detailed information on the creation and maintenance of an Assembly Package definition.
