2.5.1. Production Request Manager Screen

Shown below is the Production Request Manager screen.

The Production Manager Request screen is used to create and prepare new Pending Production orders for scheduling.

Pending Production Orders can be constructed using requests from the order entry/inventory systems or the Order can be created manually using this screen at any time.

When a Pending Production Order is scheduled using the Schedule Pending Order command on this screen, Location, Material, Equipment and Labor resources are allocated for use during the scheduling of the production run.

Fields and commands on this screen

Production Requests grid

This grid shows a list of any requested generated by other parts of the system probably due to an item low or out condition (ie during Order Entry).

Use the requests in this grid to create and schedule new production orders.

When a request is assigned to an order, there may be a dependency which exists between the production run and a customer order that is waiting for a product to be manufactured.

Pending Production Orders grid

This grid shows a list of all pending production orders which have been created but are not yet scheduled.

This grid may also show pending production orders which are waiting for material requirements to be fulfilled.

You may double click on any entry in the Pending Production Order grid to open the order using the Production Order Detail screen (described in the following section of this document).

Create Production Order command

Use the Create Production Order command to create a new pending production order.

Once an order has been created, requests can be 'moved' from the requests grid into the selected pending order shown in the Pending Production Orders grid.

In addition, you may manually create a production order by creating a new order and manually adding the desired items to the order.

Once scheduled, the order will appear on the Production Manager - Production Orders screen.

To delete an order, click on the pending order shown in the Pending Production Orders grid, then click the Delete command.

Please note: If the deleted order had been constructed using request records, the request records will be returned to the request grid.
